Leg Throw Exercises for the Abs

Hello, I’m Jacob Garcia with JGG Fitness Denver. On behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I’d like to show you an abdominal exercise called the leg throw. For this exercise you’re going to need a partner, so I’m going to have my assistant Diego, come out and help me demonstrate this for you. All right, Diego, you’re going to go ahead and lie flat on your back and put your head right between my feet. Go ahead and get your hands and grab my ankles, grab them tight. Keep your back flat against the ground as you bring your legs up towards me and I’m going to hold on to his ankles. Now I’m going to throw his legs down and he’s not going to let them touch the ground. This is called a leg throw. Now once you get used to that, you can start throwing your legs in different directions, for example on the side, which targets more the oblique muscles which are the muscles on the side that help you with the twisting motion and moving from side to side. And then for the most advanced, you can just throw their legs at any random direction, this also helps with the muscle reflex. When you’re finished go ahead and bend your knees and bring your feet flat on the ground, walk them until you are sitting straight and go ahead and sit up. And you’re ready for your next exercise.
